Thomas - 2016

A climber from Belgium who lived on the property where I stayed in Hawea, New Zealand. He was one of the funniest people I met, always joking around. However, when it came to climbing, he was serious. I went out climbing a few times with the group at the property, and one day I found out that Thomas would be my belayer (the person responsible for managing the rope). I was not sure about putting my safety in the hands of my fun friend, but I trusted him. In the end, he was one of the I felt safest with while climbing.
