Garry - 2016

I first met Garry, whom I fondly remember as “Walking Man” during my first week in New Zealand while traveling and photographing weddings for five months. As I drove towards Queenstown on the South Island, I noticed him walking along the side of the road. A little further up, I stopped to photograph the stunning views, and he soon caught up with me. I offered him a ride to town, he politely declined, explaining that he was on a mission to walk the entire length of New Zealand. 

A year later, serendipity brought me face-to-face with aWest End, Brisbane. We’ve stayed in touch since then, and I’ve been inspired by his amazing hiking journeys. Encounters like these remind me of the beauty of connection and the unexpected paths our lives can take.
